Delaney’s Debut

Trina and Darin are a wonderfully warmhearted, fun-loving, down-to-earth couple.  We got to know them a couple of years ago when we photographed their beautiful lakeside wedding.    Since then, when we have seen them at other weddings, they have always been keen for a lifestyle session with their growing daughter Delaney.  So last week we spent a wonderful morning with them at the park.

Delaney just had her first birthday a few months ago and she is already a mover and a shaker.    She has mostly just two expressions, either a scowl or huge smile, but both are equally adorable.   We had such a good time that when we left their home, Jamie actually admitted, “If I had one of those (meaning Delaney), I would never leave the house.”

What a morning!

Lyndsy & Donavan – Sneak Peek

August 23, 2010 | Filed Under Weddings | 1 Comment

Lyndsy & Donavan have made a place for themselves in our hearts.   As a couple, they have already gone through a lot  together and it has only strengthened their deep commitment and love for each other.

You can tell Donavan has a big big heart.   Apparently he woke up super early on their wedding day, not able to sleep any longer, because he was so excited to be marrying Lyndsy!  All day long, he barely left her side and the one time we saw him slip up at this, he came back and said “Forgive me, I’m new at this.”

Lyndsy, in turn, lights up when she looks at Donavan.  It’s like there is nothing else going on in the world when he’s by her side (which is probably one reason why she was able to accept his proposal during a tornado).

They are truly the sweetest and hippest couple!

Our best,

Just the three of us

Last week we had some down time, so the three of us (Jamie, myself and Gryphon), went on a three day canoe trip.  This is not that unusual for us, except that instead of flying into a remote river, we decided to stick a little closer to home.  Although we were much closer to its source, we paddled on the North Saskatchewan river, which is the same river that flows through the city of Edmonton.

Since we have been so busy lately, we haven’t been on a trip like this for awhile.  But we are going to do more of this in the near future because we were reminded just how GOOD for the soul it is.  The three of us: Jamie, Gryphon, myself, together in our canoe.

Some of what we experienced:  silhouettes of mountains, the icy blue of the glacial fed river, the fuschia color of the aptly named flower “river beauty” and the rich vegetation around the waterfalls by the tufa mounds.
